And now it's time for something completely different!

I've been following the action being created around SA and on Facebook too relating to this year's Castrol Chicken Run! Now I know this doesn't really relate to the Auris but wouldn't it be cool to get the Auris to race as part of next year's festivities? That's a little bit of my forward thinking for today ;-)

So on the happy note of the long weekend that lies ahead, I thought I'd tell you a little bit about the Castrol Chicken Run and get you to do the teams a favour by going to vote for your favourite team on the official website. It's quite a cool and interactive website, and the fact that Toyota is one of the sponsors is just great for morale.

The Castrol Chicken Run was started in 2006 and has become a huge phenomenon in South Africa. The event comprised several physical events that took place across the country, with 8 teams competing for a R50 000 cash prize and a 'chicken'.

The competition ran from 18 September and the race ends today where competitors will line up on the starting grid in Harrismith for the final leg of the race. The prize-giving will take place at the Q.bar in Fourways, JHB tonight.

Well I wish Team Fresh who are competing in the Toyota Prius all the luck and even though they lagged behind yesterday due to a sleepy start, we're hoping that they'll lead the way today!
