Swartland Rally : Round up

Well, it's Monday morning and I'm still recovering from a weekend of hardcore rally watching. It was an amazing amount of fun, I highly recommend it. The next round of the rally will be held on the 17th and 18th of October in Gauteng (I will post details as I get them, but so far it looks like it is in Bapsfontein). I highly recommend you come out and have a look, bring the family, bring the skottel, and make it a day.  read more »

The Swartland Rally live blog

We've arrived at Killarney Motorsports complex, just in time to watch the start. There's nothing prettier than a row of clean and shiny rally cars rearing to go. Preparations are being made. The first car is off, team Volkswagen.

We've been racing from viewpoint to viewpoint, getting some excellent footage. The adrenaline rush as the cars race past is amazing. This is quite literally some of the most beautiful scenery I've seen.

Bad news for Yaris fans is that Dave Compton has had to retire early due to mechanical difficulties.  read more »
