Swartland Rally Day 2

It's been an absolutely hectic day. Apologies for the lack of blogging, there is absolutely no internet connection on the farmlands we were on.

We've been racing from viewpoint to viewpoint catching the action. We are currently at the start. The cars are racing past. At incredible speeds. I'm off to try and organize some results.

I'm few moments away from receiving the final results. It's really been an exciting two days and I'm looking forward to seeing the results. I've chatted with a few drivers and the general sentiment is that its been a really good round. We've seen some pretty impressive driving from a lot of drivers. Check out my live tweets on twitter for more info.  read more »

The Swartland Rally live blog

We've arrived at Killarney Motorsports complex, just in time to watch the start. There's nothing prettier than a row of clean and shiny rally cars rearing to go. Preparations are being made. The first car is off, team Volkswagen.

We've been racing from viewpoint to viewpoint, getting some excellent footage. The adrenaline rush as the cars race past is amazing. This is quite literally some of the most beautiful scenery I've seen.

Bad news for Yaris fans is that Dave Compton has had to retire early due to mechanical difficulties.  read more »

RICHELIEU Swartland Rally

One of the highlights of my week is going to be RICHELIEU Swartland Rally, starting Friday the 19th of September through to Saturday the 21st. Toyota's performance in this rally so far has been fantastic with 302 point lead in the manufacturers championship already. The team is aiming for a maiden win in this, the seventh round of the SASOL SA National Rally Championship 2008.  read more »
